Fun at the Great Wolf Lodge

Saturday, September 7, 2019 – Sunday, September 8, 2019

Great Wolf Lodge
10175 Weddington Road
Concord, NC 28027

Registration deadline is Wednesday, August 14, 2019.

Hemophilia of North Carolina’s popular Family Retreat is heading to the Great Wolf Lodge this fall! We invite families who have children affected by a bleeding disorder to join us for a fun and educational retreat weekend. All educational programs are geared towards families who have children ages twelve and under diagnosed with a bleeding disorder.

Childcare and age appropriate children’s activities will be available on both Saturday and Sunday. If you will have teenagers with you, they will have the opportunity to buddy-up with the younger children or attend the sessions with their parents. There will be no separate teen programming. Please indicate on your registration if your teen will be buddies for the younger children.

Accommodations and meals will be provided at no cost to HNC member families thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and donors. Attendees will stay in suites that typically include two double beds, pull-out sofa, and refrigerator. Registration with HNC will be from 9:30am-10:30am on Saturday with sessions beginning at 10:30am. Programming and activities will conclude on Sunday after lunch.

This year’s family retreat will feature:

  • All meals including lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday, and snacks on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Pizza party in the waterpark on Saturday night.
  • One-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge (please note this change from past years).
  • An interactive infusion workshop for adults and children.
  • Teddy Bear Clinic for the children.
  • A variety of educational sessions.
  • Children's track and child care(*) will be provided for children twelve and under.
(*)Based on feedback from past years, some families indicated an interest in making a donation to help subsidize the childcare. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to make a donation and we will follow up with you.
  • Time to get to know other families across North Carolina affected by bleeding disorders.
  • Passes to enjoy the waterpark on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

We expect all registered adults to attend ALL PROGRAMS. This is a popular event, often with a waiting list of families who wish to attend. There will be time in the schedule to enjoy the facility. If you do not believe that you will be able to make the commitment to attend all sessions, please do not register.

Gas cards to help offset some travel costs will be provided to families who travel more than 100 miles one way and who attend all sessions. These will be provided at the conclusion of the event. We will contact you when you register if you are eligible.

Please register by Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Registration is on a first-come first-served basis. Priority will be given to those who have a child twelve and under with a bleeding disorder and to those not affiliated with industry. If you have any questions, contact the HNC office at events@hemophilia-nc.org or call 800-990-5557.
