2018 SOAR Retreat

Saturday & Sunday, June 23-24, 2018

Grandover Resort & Conference Center
1000 Club Road
Greensboro, NC 27407

Hemophilia of North Carolina (HNC) invites all women with a bleeding disorder (including women diagnosed with von Willebrand Disease, platelet disorders, and factor deficiencies including hemophilia carriers and other rare factor deficiencies) to the SOAR Women's Education Retreat. Girls age 12+ with a bleeding disorder along with their mother (or other female caregiver) are also invited and encouraged to attend.

This one night, two day retreat will offer a mix of educational opportunities, including programs from the Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) and the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), fun activities, and free time to explore the facility and relax. Whether you are a woman affected with von Willebrand disease, a platelet disorder, rare factor deficiencies, or women diagnosed as carriers (including women with hemophilia or symptomatic), we encourage you to attend this valuable weekend.

The Grandover Resort & Conference Center features world class golf, a revitalizing spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and European style architecture. Meals and room accommodations are provided free to HNC members through the generosity of our sponsors and donors.

Some things to know for the day include:

  • Check-in with HNC staff will be from 10:00am-10:30am on Saturday, June 23.
  • Programs will begin at 10:30am.
  • Programming will end at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 24.
  • Meals will include lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday, plus snacks.

SOAR programs are open to all females with bleeding disorders, including those diagnosed with von Willebrand disease, hemophilia A and B, rare factor deficiencies (such as factors V, VII, X, and XIII), platelet disorders, and carriers of any of these disorders (both symptomatic and non-symptomatic). Our mission is to improve the quality of life for girls and women so they may SOAR to their full potential.

This event is being offered free to all HNC members. Because of space constraints, priority will be given to HNC members who are unaffiliated with home care, pharmaceutical, and other related industries.
