Hemophilia of North Carolina’s popular Family Retreat is heading to the Great Wolf Lodge this fall! We invite families who have children twelve and under affected by a bleeding disorder to join us for a fun and educational retreat weekend. Educational programming is geared towards families who have children twelve and under. There will also be children's programs and child care provided. There will not be any separate teen programs so we ask that your teen be a buddy for a younger child.

The Great Wolf Lodge offers an indoor waterpark with eleven waterslides, four pools, and other family-friendly activities for the entire family.

Accommodations and meals will be provided at no cost to HNC member families thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and donors. Check-in will be on Friday beginning at 4:30pm. Dinner on Friday night will be at 6:30pm. Please indicate on your registration if you are able to attend Friday's dinner. Programming will conclude on Sunday afternoon following lunch.

This year’s family retreat will feature:

  • A two-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. All meals included.
  • Fun family activities on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Adult track will include a variety of educational sessions including the power of music therapy, celebrating independence, a bleeding disorders mingle, and more.
  • Children's track and child care(*) will be provided for children twelve and under, and will include games, fun bleeding disorders educational programs, and other exciting opportunities.
(*)Based on feedback from past years, some families indicated an interest in making a donation to help subsidize the childcare. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to make a donation and we will follow up with you.
  • Time to get to know other families across North Carolina affected by bleeding disorders.
  • Passes to enjoy the water park.

We expect all registered adults to attend ALL PROGRAMS. Educational programming is geared towards families who have children twelve and under. This is a popular event, often with a waiting list of people who also wish to attend and benefit from this educational opportunity. Time is built into the agenda to enjoy the facility. If you do not believe that you will be able to make the commitment to attend all sessions, please do not register.

Gas cards will be provided for families traveling more than 100 miles who attend all sessions to help offset some travel costs. These will be provided at the conclusion of the event. We will contact you when you register if you are eligible.

RSVP by Monday, September 17. Registration is on a first-come first-served basis. Priority will be given to those who have a child twelve and under with a bleeding disorder and to those not affiliated with industry.
